How You Can Help Join Our EarthPact When Visiting The Hotel:
1. Save Water:
a. Take a shower and save 5 times the water versus a bath.
b. Re-use towels and do not putout towels for Housekeeping to wash every day.
c. Do not leave the water running when shaving or brushing your teeth.
2. Save Energy:
a. Turn the lights off when you leave your room.
b. Turn the heat down.
c. Do not leave devices (phones, camera, etc.) plugged in all
day in the room as it wastes energy and is a fire hazard.
d. Use “zip drives” to store data and information rather than printing out paper.
3. Travel “the Green Way”:
a. Arrive at the hotel by Metro. Four of the five Metro lines
run directly under the hotel.
b. Use Metro to visit the sites and attractions of DC.
c. Walk!....the Capitol Building, Smithsonian and other
attractions are within walking distance.
4. Recycle:
a. Bring your waste –newspapers, glass and cans – to designated
hotel recycle areas.
b. Buy products in the Gift Shop that use recycled paper and
glass.
